Space is one of the most common issues with condos and apartments these days. Unless you are willing to pay more for a bigger space, you just need to make do with the amount of legroom that is given to you. Here are small bedroom tips for those of you who live with small bedrooms.

Color. There are lots of options that you will have when it comes to the color of the bedroom. However, if your goal is to make it look bigger or less crowded, your choices will be a little slimmer. Most stick with white and other light shades for their bedroom walls. Although, this group of colors might be the best selection to make, they can be a bit boring.

Another color that would be great to use as it can help you have a bedroom that has the illusion of space as well as the benefit of excitement and uniqueness would be cool colors. You can experiment with their lightness or darkness and settle for one that will be suitable for you. Examples of cool colors are blues, violets and greens.

You should never use warm colors like orange, red or yellow as your bedroom space will become even smaller. Also avoid large prints in walls as they will be too overwhelming.
Furniture. When talking about bedrooms, the bed is always the most important subject matter. Unless you are cool with calling your bedroom your bed space, you have to sacrifice with a smaller sized bed. You can purchase small sized platform beds or mattresses.

Other items that you need to fill your bedroom with are desks, chairs, cabinets, and others based on what you feel you will need. Go for minimalistic modern bedroom furniture as these are your best bets for a small bedroom.

Avoid placing furniture which you do not really need. For example, if you can afford not to have a desk inside your bedroom, it will be helpful in saving space. Also, as a night lamp, you can make use of installed wall lights instead of lampshades.

Accessories. Add life to your bedroom with the help of simple furnishings. Wall paintings that are of the right proportions for the room will be a good idea. Use curtains that have length that are from floor to ceiling because they can give the illusion of a taller room. And, assuming that you probably have a small window, long curtains will have a positive effect.

Lighting. Light can improve or negate the effects that you tried to create with your furniture. Taking into consideration the fact that you want a bigger looking bedroom, you should make sure that your lights are bright and they illuminate the room well.

If you have large windows, then you are lucky as you can take advantage of the natural coming from the outside. However, if you have small windows that let a small amount of light in, you can make up for the deficits with artificial lighting. Install lights on every corner of the room so as not to have a single corner dimly lit and reduce the space of the room.
